Hundreds of car enthusiasts in Southern California braved rainy weather to attend a charity event at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The event, held on January 26, aimed to support first responders and fire recovery efforts. Collaborating with Clarios, OPTIMA Batteries, and Lotus Cars Americas, the museum successfully raised over $140,000. This amount will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the LAPD West Bureau.
In addition to monetary donations, more than 250 items were collected for distribution to evacuation centers and families affected by the fires. The Red Cross was present with an information booth and a blood drive collection center. The blood drive resulted in 25 pints of blood being collected, potentially saving up to 100 lives.
The event received support from Ferrari Beverly Hills, Avants, Tesla, and the Responsible Battery Coalition through car displays and donations. Waymo contributed by offering 1,000 free rides to attendees traveling to and from the event.
