Boris Kort-Packard is Chief Engineer, Global Vehicles for FedEx Express, in Memphis, Tenn., where he is facilitating a goal to increase FedEx Express vehicle fuel efficiency 50% from a 2005 baseline by 2025. As Chief Engineer, he provides vision to aim the practical leading-edge implementation for fleet innovation and efficiency.Fascinated by performance and efficiency, Boris has worked in the bicycle industry (Burley Designs) automotive manufacturing (Hino, Cummins, Sumitomo Wiring) and Sharp Solar. His enthusiasm for continuous learning at boundaries of conventional and emerging technologies makes the Chief Engineer role a tailored fit.Boris helped develop and productionize additive manufacturing process repair for turbocharger inducer vane repair utilizing laser-deposition, 3D scanning and 5-axis machining.Boris holds a Master's in Engineering Management (MEM) with honors from Christian Brothers University, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from Oregon State University and a Bachelor's in East Asian Studies (Japanese) from Oberlin College.He is an avid cyclist and runner and also enjoys tinkering with cars.
