Since February 2018 when it launched, the Responsible Battery Coalition’s 2 Million Battery Challenge is well-established, entering into partnerships with like-minded organizations and poised for further expansion. In the first 10 months, initial campaign analytics far exceeded expectations, including:• Generating 38.4 million impressions (number of times 2MBC appeared in a search)• Reaching 7.3 million U.S. adults (number of people exposed to the 2MBC campaign through an online search)• Producing more than 310,000 click-throughs to visit the 2MBC website landing page• Driving approximately 50,000 click-throughs to RBC partner sites to find a retail location to take a battery for recyclingThe direct involvement of RBC members and their willingness to make battery recycling convenient and simple has contributed to the success of the 2MBC campaign to date and will continue to play an important roles as public awareness of the campaign increases. Additional growth plans for the 2MBC campaign in 2019 include expanding its presence on social media; exploring additional partnerships and “on the ground” opportunities with industry organizations, community groups and nonprofits that share the common goal of managing recyclable products; and strengthening our battery recycling relationships in Canada, Alaska and elsewhere.
